Even as the initial autopsy report has pointed towards stress and exhaustion as the cause of the death of 10-year-old year Bhagyashree Golecha, the police are awaiting the histopathology and forensic science laboratory reports to confirm the cause of death.

Bhagyashree, a sixth standard student of Baldwin’s Girl’s School, had collapsed during PT class and died on Wednesday.

Dr Bheemappa Havanur of the forensic department of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, who conducted the autopsy, said theimmediate findings point towards stress. He has ruled out any congenital problem adding that viscera of different parts of the girl, like the kidney and liver, have been sent to the pathology department for further tests. Police said that they would receive the report in another two days.

Meanwhile, the disturbed Bhagyashree’s parents and relatives are yet to come to terms with her death. Speaking to Deccan Herald, Bhagyashree’s maternal uncle Aravind Mehta held the school authorities responsible for the death of the girl and vowed to fight the case till the end.
